At Calgary's Military Museums, artifacts and archival material are preserved in order to better understand Canada’s military history. It serves as an educational support facility, as well as a military heritage and cultural public attraction, within the community. It is a place where the sacrifices of soldiers can be remembered through stories and images. Stories of courage and bravery in the fight to defend and free the nation. Education for youth is a priority in portraying the impact of military events on the development of Canada. The Military Museums also showcases The Calgary Highlanders, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, The King's Own Calgary Regiment, Lord Strathcona's Horse and the Alberta Gallery.
