Profile

Vertigo Theatre Centre

Vertigo opened in late 2003 with the world premiere of a long lost Agatha Christie play, "Chimneys." Now located below the Calgary Tower, Vertigo has two theatres: a 350-seater with a proscenium stage called The Playhouse, and a 130-seat flexible black box studio called The Studio. The Empress Lounge and lobby double as a large art gallery (Gallery 2005) displaying artworks on loan from the Alberta Foundation For The Arts and Calgary Allied Arts Foundation collections.
The playhouse boasts comfortable seating with good sightlines throughout. Vertigo has rapidly built a faithful customer base among Calgary's sleuth-loving public. That includes kids. Vertigo offers children’s plays on the Y Stage during their season
