An expanded buffet and a new Mongolian grill may have played a role in Singapore Sam's winning The Herald's Readers' Choice Award.

The company's staff was thrilled with the honour.

"We were really excited," says Stacy Provins, general manager.

The Mongolian Grill, part of the buffet, turns patrons into cooks.

Patrons choose from raw ingredients, and literally make their own stirfry. Along with the ingredients, the grill contains all the sauces and trimmings.
